A modern, personal salon on Gamla Uppsalagatan
Menesa Salong is a hair and beauty salon in Uppsala, next door to the mosque. Quality, service and customer care come first – but so does how the room feels. The salon welcomes women only, and if you wear a scarf we draw the curtains so the space becomes completely private.
We work with cuts, styling, colour, highlights and balayage, natural hair colour, keratin and scalp treatments, microblading, permanent lip colour, threading, facials, mesotherapy and hijama. Whether you want a new colour, a classic cut or simply an hour to yourself, you get the same care.
Every client gets a proper consultation before we start. We look at how your hair falls, your skin tone and how much time you realistically want to spend at home – and work from that, not from a template.

We simply draw the curtains
For many women, the hair appointment is the hardest part of the week. Taking off your scarf in a room with windows onto the street is not a small step. That is why privacy is not a detail here – it is the foundation.
- Female clients and female staff only.
- Curtains closed whenever you want – just say so at the door.
- A separate, closed room for facials, mesotherapy and hijama.
- We never photograph a client without asking first.
If you would like to be the only client in the salon, that can often be arranged early or late in the day. Write it in the message field when you book and we will come back to you.

We are used to children who cry before they even sit down, and to children who have been cut too quickly somewhere else. Here it is allowed to take time. We show the tools, explain what will happen and stop whenever a break is needed.

Frequently asked questions
Short answers to what clients usually wonder about before a first visit.
Yes. We take female clients only and all staff are women. No men are in the premises during opening hours.
Absolutely. Tell us when you arrive – or tick the box when you book online – and we will close the curtains before you sit down.
Colour on short hair is 700 SEK and on long hair 1000 SEK. Highlights start at 1500 SEK and balayage is priced by length and the result you want. You always get the price before we start.
Allow roughly 1.5 hours for short hair and 2 hours for long hair. Highlights and balayage usually take 2.5–3 hours.
Most people need a root touch-up every six to eight weeks. Balayage and soft highlights grow out more gracefully and often last three to four months.
Microblading is a form of permanent make-up where the eyebrows are drawn hair by hair with a fine hand tool. The result looks like real brows and is used to fill sparse areas or give the brows a new shape.
Microblading starts at 1500 SEK here. The result normally lasts one to two years depending on skin type and lifestyle, and can then be topped up.
We use numbing cream, and most people describe it as light scratching rather than pain. Expect some redness for the first few days.
Wait about a week before using make-up on the brows themselves, and avoid sauna, swimming pools and strong sunlight while they heal.
Hijama is traditional cupping therapy. We work on the back and legs, always in a closed room, always performed by a woman and always with single-use materials. Please book a few days ahead.

Booking ahead is best – then we know there is a chair for you. If we have a gap on the day we are happy to take drop-ins, so call and we will tell you straight away.
Payment is made in the salon by card or Swish.
